K-Pop Events in Delhi

While Korean culture isn’t exactly the hottest topic in India at the moment, there have still been quite a few opportunities to enjoy K-pop in Delhi! In February 2024, K-pop sensation Anoora performed at the Pacific Mall.

In January 2024, celebrity choreographer and dancer Woomin Jang taught a dance class and performed a concert!

In 2023, there were many events like Rang de Korea, a K-Culture Conference, and a K-pop concert featuring MustB over the course of several months to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Korea.

While, at the time of writing this article there aren’t any big Korean culture events in Delhi in the works, there might be something exciting popping up soon!

The Growing Popularity of Korean Lessons in Delhi

Since India and Korea have strong diplomatic relations, more and more students from both countries are enjoying being able to switch places for interesting educational and cultural enrichment.

Indian students are able to more easily attend semesters or entire educational courses abroad in South Korea, and South Korean students can come to India for education as well. For both sets of students, it’s beneficial to know both Korean and an Indian language for maximum communication.

For professionals, becoming fluent in Korean creates opportunities to work with international companies or even move to Korea for an exciting business venture!

Even for students or professionals who aren’t planning to work or study in the beautiful Republic of Korea, knowing this exciting language offers learners the opportunity to enjoy Korean media, expand their CV, and enjoy a great vacation to the “Land of the Morning Calm.”

Why Study or Work in South Korea?

When you learn Korean and open yourself up to the opportunity to study abroad or work in South Korea, you’re giving yourself the chance to experience a whole new culture as well as invite amazing experiences in the future!

Study Abroad in South Korea for an Internationally-Recognized Degree

Universities like Seoul National University (SNU), KAIST, Yonsei, POSTECH, Korea University, and SKKU are among the top universities worldwide - and you can study there, too! With their state-of-the-art facilities and superior teaching methods, you can reap the benefits of a high-quality education while gaining life experience that you simply cannot emulate anywhere else.

If this interests you, it’s in your best interest to learn at least the foundations of the Korean language before you go so you can better communicate with university officials and professors, other students, and people in Korean society.

Many universities have a language program for international students to learn Korean once they begin their classes, in case you want to wait until you get settled on campus to start learning.

Work in Korea for High Life Satisfaction

With South Korea’s thriving economy, low crime rates, acceptance of foreigners, universal healthcare, protections for workers, and other life-enhancing cultural norms, South Korea is a great place to work and live.

Getting a job in South Korea can be the hardest part, since it’s a rather small country compared to a place like India, and foreigners, while accepted, may not be qualified to work in a complex social structure like a South Korean business. Your best bet is to take an undergraduate or graduate degree program to integrate yourself into society and show employers that you’re well-versed in the necessary cultural and social knowledge as well as the language.
