I am a dedicated violin tutor with over eight years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor of Music in Chamber Music with a focus on violin. My approach combines technical training with a deep understanding of music theory, aural skills, and sight reading. I believe these elements are essential for developing both confidence and creativity on the instrument. In my lessons, scales, intervals, and harmony are not just abstract concepts but are woven into practical bowing and fingering exercises. Sight reading is another important area, and I provide step-by-step methods that strengthen fluency and reduce performance anxiety. I work with students preparing for music exams, guiding them through repertoire, technique, and musicianship requirements. At the same time, I enjoy teaching those who simply want to expand their overall musical fluency and understanding. My teaching is structured yet flexible, meeting each student at their current level and encouraging steady progress. I aim to create lessons that feel both challenging and rewarding. I also nurture imaginative learning, inviting students to hear stories or colours in the music, which deepens expression. At the same time, I support strong goal-setting for those who thrive on clear milestones. This balance creates an environment where discipline and creativity coexist. My aim is to help every student feel centred, expressive, and confident in their playing. Music, then, becomes not just a skill but a joyful part of who they are.
