• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  Football is my passion and my profession. I started playing when I was just 5 years old, and over the last 15+ years, I've played at all competitive levels, learning the game inside and out. My love for football grew because of the energy, strategy, and team spirit the game demands.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  The motivation behind me is my past experience,as I have faced a lot of favourite, lack of proper footballing knowledge, lack of proper guidance in completely wrong training methods. Which I faced during my learning phase, and which I don't want the other generation to face. I have played at district state and national levels, also played a lot of private tournaments, which were very competitive while playing in one of the local tournaments I got a serious back injury due to which I had to stop playing professional football, but despite of that injury I still lead the Maharashtra Beach football under 21 age group team last year in the national Beach football championship which was held at Goa where I was the best player of the tournament, the highest scorer and with God's grace and my teammates help we won that tournament. So I admire myself as a motivation, and I push myself to Reach higher goals and keep achieving more and more. Even if I'm not able to play professional football, I still play in the MFA second division. I manage my own club named Athang football club. I will keep playing and teaching football until my body allows me to do so.

• How does your work help society?

  Football is more than just a game; it teaches life skills like teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Through my coaching, I help students stay physically active and mentally strong. I've seen shy, underconfident kids transform into confident players who can handle challenges both on and off the field. My work helps build not just better players, but also better individuals who contribute positively to society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model is Cristiano Ronaldo. I deeply admire his dedication, professionalism, and relentless pursuit of excellence. He proves that talent alone is not enough - success comes from hard work, self-belief, and discipline. As a coach, I try to bring the same energy and mindset to my students, teaching them that with determination, anything is possible.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I continue to play football to stay connected with the game. I enjoy trekking and swimming. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places, which helps me stay inspired and creative.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of my proudest and most memorable moments as a coach was when my very first student got the opportunity to play football in Poland at just 13 years old. Watching him grow from a beginner to representing at an international level made me realize the true impact of teaching. It showed me that with the right guidance and belief, dreams really can turn into reality. This player from Andheri was training with me for 2 years and looking at his game style i knew he is very advanced than players of his age I suggested his parents to send him to Poland for trials. First he gave trials online where his basic skills were checked then we went to poland for trials for 2 weeks. Because of his skills he was offered a 2 season contract where his education,accommodation and food was included. Within a few months he with his mother shifted to Poland to grow his career. Now i wish him luck,i pray for his success.
