About Shannon
Well all have a story. Mine is motivated by my personal and professional experiences in both the healthcare and fitness industries. I’m determined to make a difference by breaking through the crap that holds people back from living fit and healthy lives. I am also a licensed Chiropractor for three years in which I gear my practice towards shifting people from the pain to prevention mindset. I look beyond just fixing the symptoms and dive deep into the cause.
Through my work I have witnessed first-hand the impact injury, illness, obesity and poor health can have on people’s lives. The effect it has on their confidence, relationships, quality of life, ability to move AND their happiness can be crushing.
After 3 years working as a chiropractor and injury management industry, I decided I wanted and needed to influence change in people’s lives in a more positive way. It can be a long challenging journey on the road from injury, illness, poor health to achieving wellness. During this time it was obvious that there was a difference between those who had successful recoveries and those who battled to climb their way back to good health – it came down to their support systems, behaviors, routines and mindset. Unfortunately, there is a HUGE gap between the offering of medical health care professionals and the health / fitness industry. Professionals in these fields are offering extraordinary services and specialities in their fields. But between the 15 – 30 min medical consult or the 30 – 60 mins on the gym floor; where is the time to get down to the root cause and invest energy into unpacking the personal, psychological and behavioral challenges impacting people’s wellbeing and path to good health?
So, I made the decision to help people learn the basics, improve lifestyle behaviors and with the hope to positively influence healthy change in people’s lives.
I believe there’s more to be done to offer support to help break down the barriers in the lives of those who are struggling and to make healthy lifestyles more achievable and attainable. No one should have to go this road alone.
