About Abhinav
Hello all, I am Abhinav Raj. I have done my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Indian Classical Music from Allahabad University. I have also done a Diploma in music which is called Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti. I am really passionate about teaching music and want to spread my knowledge of music to everyone who is interested. I have also 1+ year of teaching experience. My approach as a teacher to share my knowledge is as follows: - First I discuss the topic with the student to get an overall outlook of the particular topic for a better understanding when we dive into it. - Then I do the theory part of that topic and also tell the student to write it down to get a structure of the whole topic. - Then I explain the whole topic thoroughly in small sections to make the student understand the deep meaning of that particular topic. - Let's say, in music, first I discuss the topic (Sargam, Alankar, Palta, swar, Raag, Bandish, etc.). Then I tell the student to write it down and learn. When they are done with learning, then I demonstrate it in front of them and they start to follow by hearing. Once they sing properly, they sing it on their own and I listen and correct them wherever they are wrong. Once they get the topic clearly, I come to the beat part because the beat is a must in music. Firstly I demonstrate to them how to sing with the tabla and after that, they start doing the same. Once they get the beat while singing, it's done. Then I give them homework to practice the whole lesson and demonstrate the whole topic in the next class in front of me. - To ensure class engagement and for better understanding of the student, I take surprise tests, quizzes, and unit tests. - To maintain healthy competition between students, I give them small rewards when they perform well. - My classes are intended for school children, college level as well as adults.
