Lesson Plan: Building Confidence in Spanish
Objective:
To empower middle and high school students to build confidence in speaking Spanish through engaging activities and supportive environments.
Every plan is built according to proficiency level and interests of the students.
The materials to be used are mentioned like worksheets, audios, flashcards, pictures, etc.)
Duration: 45 minutes
40 minutes - lesson class
05 minutes - orientation / advising.
Example of a Lesson Outline:
1. Warm-up (10 minutes):
Greeting and introduction in Spanish.
Quick review of previously learned vocabulary or phrases.
Icebreaker activity: students off and on asking simple questions in Spanish (e.g., ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿Cuántos años tienes?).
2. Confidence-Boosting Activities (30 minutes):
Role-playing: Set the student to assign different scenarios (e.g., ordering food at a restaurant, asking for directions). Encourage the student to act out the scenarios in Spanish using the vocabulary and phrases he/she has learned.
Picture prompts: Show images related to everyday situations (e.g., school, family, hobbies) and ask student to describe what he/she sees in Spanish. Provide support and feedback as he/she practices speaking.
Discussion: Lead a guided discussion on a topic of interest to the student (e.g., favorite hobbies, travel destinations).
Encourage everyone to contribute in Spanish, emphasizing that it's okay to make mistakes.
3. Listening Practice (10 minutes):
Play audio recordings of native Spanish speakers conversing on familiar topics.

5. Homework Assignment
