About Iraani
With over 6 years of experience as a violin tutor and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Violin Performance, I bring a holistic, therapeutic approach to learning the violin. For me, the violin is more than just an instrument—it's a pathway to self-expression, emotional release, and mindfulness. My teaching focuses on musical storytelling, using sound as a tool for calm, reflection, and growth. I integrate techniques like guided improvisation, expressive journaling, and soundscape creation into lessons to help students connect with their emotions in a safe and creative way. I’ve had the privilege of working with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adult students seeking healing and self-discovery through music. My lessons are flexible and student-led, offering a non-judgmental space to explore music at your own pace. My violin teaching approach is warm, interactive, and always shaped around your goals. I specialise in preparing students for orchestral playing, including youth and community orchestra auditions. Whether you're learning to blend in a section or building confidence to lead, I provide focused lessons that support your growth. We’ll work on ensemble blend, following a conductor, orchestral etiquette, and managing group dynamics. I use score reading and simulated ensemble exercises to create real rehearsal conditions in our lessons. My teaching combines technical guidance with musical awareness to make you a more responsive and confident ensemble player. I especially enjoy helping students with big musical dreams, offering support and structure that turns ambition into progress.
