Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER)
Established by the Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), IISER Pune is one of seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) for the conduct of intensive research. Fergusson College applications and admissions are conducted online. Admission to the PG courses depends equally on merit and entrance examination marks. The selection of the candidates is based on Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET), Interview, and Orientation. In 2019, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recognized five courses offered by FTII – Direction; Electronic Cinematography; Video Editing; Sound Recording and TV Engineering; and Feature Film Screenplay Writing.
The Institute offers various student facilities including accommodation, a gym, a playground for sports events, and Film Libraries. Scholarships are also awarded to deserving students. FTII is an active member of the Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision (CILECT).
