I always motivate my students to keep asking questions during and after class, making it more interactive and interesting rather than just delivering a monologue. I encourage them to read on research in the last decade in the area related to my class on a day to day basis in order to make them more inquisitive and develop a passion for the subject. I also provide them with some support and ideas to carry out simple experiments that will help them understand the theory behind that, better. Giving them some questions to ponder as homework and read more about the topic of the class helps them understand the logic and reason behind every basic aspect of Genetics/Molecular Biology.
With a thirst for continuous learning, innovation, flexibility and integrity at work; striving towards perfection, I am fortunate and proud to have worked as a CSIR-JRF at one of the pioneer Departments for Genetics, at Osmania University, on my favourite and passionate subject of Molecular Genetics for 3.5 years. This passion for Research and Development in the area of Genetics has been my motivation to work at Thomson Reuters as a Research Analyst on an esteemed project called Gene Variant Database (for Cancer Genetics and Precision medicine) which has been projected as a prime product of this brand. Motivating young minds into this field through teaching is my passion, which was fulfilled by working as a guest lecturer for the past 3 years, teaching Classical Genetics to UG and PG students. During the 3 year tenure, I had also been called by various University affiliated colleges as an External examiner to conduct the semester practical exams for UG and PG Genetics and Biotechnology courses. This 8 year experience of committed working in the field of Molecular Genetics has broadened my skill set suite to applications in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, various wet lab and dry lab related Molecular Genetic approaches and methodologies, teaching, Literature surfing and Scientific writing, Data collection and Analysis, Precision Medicine, Cancer Genetics, CRISPR-Cas, etc to name the most noteworthy of them.
RESEARCH and WORK EXPERIENCE:
Successfully completed a project on “The Effect of Antibiotics on Microorganisms” at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad and submitted report as part of the CBSE curriculum in 2005.
Worked as CSIR-JRF for the 3.5 years on Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics after qualifying the CSIR JRF/NET EXAM-2010 at Dept. of Genetics, University College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Worked as Research Analyst for 1.7 years at Thomson Reuters, Hyderabad.
Actively engaged till date in studying the essentials of professional development for teachers and how it can be implemented in classrooms by Lecturers.
Teaching experience
As part of my research work(CSIR-JRF) under my guide at Osmania University, I had taken few theory and practical classes for M.Sc. Genetics students at the same department and also received a very good feedback from the students on my teaching ability.
Handled theory and practical classes for Genetics and Animal Biotechnology papers as a lecturer for both UG and PG students at Osmania University College for Women, Koti, Hyderabad for a period of 3 years with excellent student feedback and support.
During the 3 year tenure, I had also been called by various University affiliated colleges as an External examiner to conduct the semester practical exams for UG and PG Genetics and Biotechnology courses.

Very friendly. Can understand what she teaches easily. Explains in a simple manner so that each n everyone in her class can understand what mam explains. Very patient.
The way mam teaches a student is different from others. The uniqueness in teaching is to be friendly to the student and using simple explanation and words that anyone could understand easily. And most importantly the patience to expalin a topic many times made me understand topics deeper and clarify my doubts clearly. I am very happy to mention here and recommend others.
Gayatri mam stands out in explaining genetics. As she is a very friendly and an interactive teacher you can get all your doubts clarified very clearly .Her way of teaching is really perfect and creates more and more enthusiasm in learning the subject.Listening to her lectures would really help a lot..!
She is a very good teacher as well as guide. She is the friendliest teacher one can ever come across. She clears all the doubts without any hesitation.
She is the best teacher and she is very interactive and very friendly and will clear all the doubts and teach the concept very clearly. Iam a student of her and she is the best i would totally recommend her.
I have known Gayatri as a great teacher with experience in the field for a decade. She is dedicated to the subject and has been the favorite of all her students upto date for her committed and friendly teaching skills.
She is the example showing the meaning of a true teacher.....whenever we hear the word genetics first name strikes in our mind is her....tries to help students in all the possible ways she can and inspire students towards subject with her teachings...
She creates an interest about the subject and ensures that we learn things completely. She has a thorough understanding of the subject and goes to great lengths in order to deliver an effective lecture.
Love for the subject is all what she is build with...!!
She is a very devoted teacher, she explains the concepts from the basics, and builds it up in a way that it doesn’t seem hard at all.
For me, she will always be my ‘go to’ teacher for genetics or any life advice.
She is humble understanding and focused. She encourages doubts and makes it a point that everyone understands her class.
Genetics can only be easy and ‘interesting’ when you learn it from Gayatri mam!
