I am Aruna Dinakara, a professional chess coach since 2016, an active International FIDE rated chess player and an Arena FIDE Master. I run my own academy coined 'Aruna Chess Academy'.
Formerly, U-18 Karnataka state chess champion (in 2002 and represented state in Nationals) & U-25 Karnataka state chess runner-up (in 2002 and represented state in Nationals).
I'm a voracious reader and my hobbies include writing, travelling, swimming & playing flute.

My coaching doesn't focus on mugging up theories, but rather on the general principles, thought processes, for example, my design of four clues (the most important of the four being stretching one's imagination) that masters implement intuitively to crack open almost any position, logical plus strategic understanding and immediate implementation. This drives you to the right thinking track enabling you to formulate your best practical plans at any given position.
My course is peppered with creative mnemonics/memory markers and formulae for the twin purpose of thorough assimilation of concepts during the learning phase and quick recall in practice.
I offer the complete course package from basic to advanced, spread across six levels. At the moment, one-to-one class slots are full. Only group classes to children aged between six and eighteen are open.
