I am Vinnie and I love music. Sharing my passion with my students is very rewarding. I have a MA, 10 years experience of teaching and am a very active musician. Most of my students reach a distinction in their grade exams. I also like lemon cake.
I tailor my sessions based on the students previous experience as well as future goals. Focus lies on technique, interpretation of a wide range of repertoire, improvisation, band leading skills and how to communicate your musical ideas verbally and musically.
As a teacher I have held a studio since 2012, and have studied the methodologies of Kato Havas, Paul Roland, and Mimi Zweig. I am also an accredited teacher in the Suzuki method, and have trained with Paule Barselou, and Dr. Katie Schlaikjer. I have completed violin and theory exams in the RCM method and I am able and willing to prepare students for these accreditations.
My experience in different academic fields has allowed me to observe the good and the bad of different teaching methods.
My background being in both academia and performance, I am able to offer tuition in a variety of musical disciplines, up to and including degree level. I favour a flexible approach, catering to the ambitions, needs and abilities of the individual student.
I'm very passionate about teaching and have been doing it for the past three years in my private studio and more recently as a sectional teacher at Sistema Winnipeg. I've recently received my M.Mus degree from the University of Manitoba, where I studied with Dr Minna Chung, co-author of the internationally published book "Cellomind.
My methodology is: work smarter, not harder. Technique is of the upmost importance to achieve musical goals without damage to the musician. I give lessons up to college level voice (especially audition cuts and musical theatre singing) and up to intermediate guitar/ukulele/piano. I will expect students to warm up before a lesson as well as with me at the beginning of each session.
I teach at all levels and ages. I adapt to your needs, so the class can be by webcam or at my home, with a Grand Piano. As a beginner, how many times have you been offered this opportunity? ;-) I can help you prepare different piano pieces, exams or reinforce the subject taught at the school or conservatory.
- Assesing students's personality type. - Creating the right lesson materials to use with my students that are consistent with: their personality type, their stated goals and their musical strength and weaknesses. - Getting my guitar students to do what they like so they actually make progress and become great players.
I am deeply committed to education and course development. As a teacher and performer, critical listening and research have provided the analytical foundation for my instruction. I focus on educational quality and pedagogical need so students, both in private lessons and ensemble situations, can develop as musicians.
The classes I teach are directed from children from 8 years old to seniors and from the initial level to the advanced level. The classes always have the theoretical sustenance of the music so that in addition to playing the instrument the student learns about music theory. Even so, sessions that are purely practical for those advanced students who wish to perfect the technique can be done.
Individual students deserve individual curriculum for teaching; I feel it is important to have a student first excited and engaged before extensive theory.
My main focus in my courses are for beginners and intermediate guitarists. Im going to teach you how intervals work together, how to play in scales and patterns that come with them, modes and much more! This is a course for those that can play guitar but want to really understand their instrument to the maximum level.
I'm currently enrolling Berklee College of Music undergraduate program (with full scholarship), and this is my 5th semester. I mainly teach Jazz piano, and music theory (both Jazz and Classical). My uniqueness as a teacher would be a huge amount of resources and examples that I can offer you during classes.
I have a Piano Diploma Distinction (along with grades in several other instruments) regularly jam and gig, and know music theory like the back of my hand. Every time I play I have all these skills in my mind, and I'm looking to share them.
I am a working musician, well qualified, friendly with a good sense of humour experienced in teaching at degree level in a variety of styles including Classical, Jazz and related improvisational styles. My approach is always to assess the student's needs and current knowledge and to go from there. I have well worked out progression paths in all I do.
I love to teach, and music is my passion. I aim to inculcate a love of music, and general playing ability for all instruments I teach. My specialty is teaching students to sing while playing piano, but I can teach the reading of sheet music for both Tuba and Piano. I can teach students up to distinction level grade 5 theory, and can give vocal coaching.
Music lessons for all ages. Certified Suzuki Teacher, more than 10 years of teaching/performance experience. Bass, Voice, Theory, staff and chord reading. Degrees from universities in Brazil and in the US, has experience teaching classrooms, music schools and private students.
I approach each topic with creativity and a practical activity. I like to make the student comfortable in displaying understanding of technique from the start, however still allowing freedom for the pupil to add their own artistic flare. I teach all fundamental topics, including technique, vocal health, theory, performance technique and songwriting.
Hello! You want to learn to play an instrument or you are interested in further music theory? Or you need a little help with music theory, reading the scores and with the initials of the agreements? I am a pianist, guitarist and singer with a vast technical and musical background. I offer theory instrument lessons and home recording and assess lessons even at home in the city and province.
I approach music student lessons with a structure that brings together the student's current abilities with their potential to grow in a particular field. I model a learning activity, allowing the student to contribute/participate, while gradually increasing the level of challenge. This works particularly well in live performance studies.
I focus my singing teaching heavily on vocal technique. I believe having good technique and vocal support ensures a more rounded sound and a healthier voice. I tailor my teaching in accordance with age, however only through how I describe the techniques. The core principles and the mechanics of how to use the voice is what I teach to all students.
If you're looking for someone to guide you through the first steps of your musical journey or to expand your knowledge in various styles for piano, voice, music theory, production or composition lessons, visit my website for more info.
I teach by creating a low-stress environment where the student has complete control over the topics studied if desired. I frequently set tasks at 3 levels of difficulty that all use practical techniques. This encourages the student to engage and provide them with perspective in relation to real-life musical events.
A dedicated and enthusiastic piano teacher, with a focus on musical expression. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Classical and contemporary piano. Music theory, analysis and practical musicianship. - Tell me about your qualifications. I hold several qualifications in piano performance, including a DipLCM, DipABRSM and ATCL (Distinction).
I like to teach people to work towards music that they want to be able to play but making sure that you pass all the fundamental steps along the way.
As a fully qualified Secondary school Music teacher (Music degree and PGCE), I have over 15 years experience helping pupils through their Music Grades,KS4 and KS5 qualifications. My lessons would be fully tailored to the individual, young or older - some want to learn songs for the joy of playing them, others want to work towards Grades, GCSEs or A levels.
My teaching method begins with very basic note location on the piano before leading into whatever branch the student decides to take. It is called the suzuki method and depending on learning speed will determine the route taken. Once the notes are learnt.
In teaching I would aim not to simply teach the student the mechanical method of playing the piano, but also give an understanding of how the music works by discussion. My methodology would be to get my students as passionate about the music as I am, so that they will be motivated by genuine interest. I would augment this with exercises and scales generally following ABRSM grades.
You learn the basics as quickly as possible and from there you develop further towards your goal. Because doing this is my job to motivate you. learning lessons according to your needs is important. Making music is in the beginning, if you know the basics then it just becomes fun. That's why I want you to know the basics quickly. obviously not too fast.
