My methodology really depends on the age. For example, if I am teaching to kids, I often use images to represent concepts. It also depend on the level. If the student’s level is already pretty good, I tend not to speak English at all so that students are encouraged to think in Italian, and also, to get used to the sound of the Italian language.
I believe the learning of a language starts from conversation. That's how children start to speak, by hearing from someone else and speaking themselves. This is why I base my lessons on conversation. It could be about anything; if there's a particular field of vocabulary that you might want to learn, we can focus on that. There has to be a grammar part aswell, of course.
