About Vasudevan
I am an University level Weightlifter and Powerlifter with some experience in personal training. I am a certified Exercise Science Specialist. I gained a passion for fitness while in University and have shared my knowledge over platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and also WhatsApp, along with hopes of inspiring others to get into fitness.
Having played a lot of sport growing up, eventually my fitness journey started since freshman year of University, and what was once a hobby 4 years ago has now turned into a lifestyle. I am not only happy with how I look, but most importantly love how I feel.

Vazz Fitness Personal Training is really great. I was skinny but too unmotivated and shy to go out. I had Vasudevan as my personal trainer and now I noticed a positive change in my appearance. When I made it to the gym, my workout routine of reading US magazine on the elliptical and doing a few tired weight-training routines from college, wasn't feeling terribly effective. Vasudevan is a great personal trainer in large part because he's an excellent teacher. His personal training sessions have taught me how to create a varied and effective workout. Vasudevan consistently explains why we're doing what we're doing. He is very proactive too! He provides good information about healthy diets that is useful in everyday situations as I start traveling again for work. Vasudevan's just a cool guy, easy to talk to....someone who makes you feel very comfortable as you put yourself in the somewhat vulnerable position of attempting self-improvement...And I've seen results: I look good, my clothes are looser, I drink less and I just feel better about myself. He has a team who support you with any doubts when he is not available ( that's too rare :P ). Just join their training if you are really looking to some life changing experience.
I have been working out with Vasudevan since February and have been extremely happy with the results and services that I have received since I started. Vasu is very flexible and accommodating with scheduling times to work out that fit with my schedule during the week and he personalises my workouts to target the areas that I want to work on. He also will give you a variety of different exercises that you can do at home on your days off if you want. I would highly recommend Vasudevan and his team to anyone.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I started to work on my fitness during the freshmen year of my University. I wasn't able to see much results. So I started to read articles, research papers and discuss in online forums. In the study, I found it particularly interesting in the subject of fitness, as I saw how it was not just about physical health, but how I saw the relevance of this in my mental health. So I stuck to the basic and simple principles for a consistent period and it gave me the results I wanted. Then I realized, I am not only happy with how I look, but most importantly love how I feel. This sparked my interest.

What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
The primary motivation lies in improving the physical and mental health of people as much as I can. I would be lying, if I say that's my only motivation. The other motivation is that my passion is allowing me to have a side hustle.

How does your work help society?
In my perspective, Happiness is a collection of Physical health, Mental health, Relationships and Financial health. When you have the first 2 good, the remaining 2 will definitely become good. Body image issues and self care are huge parts of mental health in our society. I feel glad that I am able to work with people to uplift their whole happiness by increasing their physical and mental health.

If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I have listened to multiple fitness trainers and mental health gurus. It wouldn't be fair if I name one or two. Their principles and work ethic are the real role models that I consider.

Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I am an avid reader, be it books, articles, research papers. I love playing badminton and snooker during my leisure times.

Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I still remember the day. It was Jan 21. I was in the first year of my UG. I had been putting in my efforts for around 6 months and enrolled myself for the Powerlifting house match. I had my friends and some seniors supporting me during this preparation. I stepped on the Platform, but I failed all three attempts in the first event and got disqualified. The judge, who was also the head coach of my college said to me that, " You can't make it into Powerlifting ever, you better try playing some other sport or go for dance." I could have quit that day. But my love for strength sports made me hold it. I pursued it despite what he said. He kept saying the same to me almost every time we met. In 2nd year, again I participated in the house match powerlifting and won the gold medal in my category. He didn't know what to say. By the end of 3rd year he called me one day and asked me to be the university Powerlifting captain and also I led my team to multiple colleges and we won. That's when I noticed, no matter what, when we put in sufficient efforts and stay consistent, if not today, someday we will see the results. To put it in one line, " Be DEAF while working towards your dream, and be DUMB after reaching your dream ". ALWAYS HUSTLE.
