- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am a pianist and a music therapist, so I mainly teach music, but I really enjoy teaching Italian and Greek, grammar and literature, too.
It is nice to combine the subjects. I also speak Spanish and I can teach in each of these languages, which is both interesting and fun.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a first honour degree in Literature and Musicology from the University of Milan, and a Piano Performance degree from the Milan Conservatorio.
I also have a degree in music therapy, and I am in London to attend a MA in Psychoanalysis.
- How much do you charge?
I generally charge 25 for languages and 30 for music, with 5 pounds extra for travelling.
The fees can be discussed depending on personal situation, number of students and age.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach at home and at students' homes.
I am based in Angel (Islington), but I can travel.
- When are you available?
I can teach any day except Wednesday, any time of the day.
I have a piano and a rehearsing room in my house, and I have no restrictions on the times for playing.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have experience with all levels and ages, starting from four year old children.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can give, if necessary, Italian and Greek lessons on Skype.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
In my experience, as a teacher and as an artist, music and literature have always been a way to express myself, to discover beauty, and ultimately to look for freedom. Everyone needs some air and some free space for himself, and art is one of the most beautiful ways to discover this dimension.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been working as a musician and a music teacher for almost nine years, in a wide range of environments.
I've worked in different schools, with students from 3 to 18 years old. In my private practice I have been teaching adults and children.
From 2004 I have been teaching music in prisons, both to junior and adult prisoners, and I've organized concerts with them.
Due to my music therapy degree, I have experience with vulnerable adults and children.
I also have been teaching languages in a private practice, and English in a school in Milan.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained as a music therapist in Italy in two psychiatric hospitals near Milan.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a music therapist and I still cooperate with a music association in Italy that teaches music in prison.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I am actually teaching piano to two eleven year old girls and a twenty year old boy. We have a very nice relationship, and I try to organize small concerts for them to perform at.
I recently got my first Greek student, a young professional interested in the subject.
