About the lesson
The class will be of 40 / 60 hour / 80 hour duration with special focus on Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking Skills. The student will be provided with tips and strategies to score well in IELTS and diagnostic and mock tests will be conducted and areas of improvement will be worked upon together. I fully utilize the latest methodologies of teaching and effectively implement LMS such as google classroom for enhanced training.
Classes will be online on skype or google meet.
Classes can be individual or in small groups not exceeding 5.
Personalized training, schedules and trackers of progress.
Classes will be as per current level - Beginner, Pre-inter, Intermediate and 8777 achievers
I also conduct online spoken English and IELTS classes for foreigners over skype and regular classes in Spoken English and Business Communication for working professionals. You may also choose to do 10-20 hour packages for writing, speaking etc., at Rs 500/- per hour.

About Shama
I am a teaching professional with over 15 years of experience, in teaching MBA students English Communication and Soft-skills. I have undergone the Master course for IELTS from British Council and am a conscientious teacher. Perfect! The request for teaching was not for myseof but my friend and collaborator who needed a score in English speaking test to be able to take up a course in UK which he has been offered. Shama is highly competent in her field and she can really inspire great learning abilities in her students. My friend, who took a class from her only for a month jumped one band above in his IELTS score. Of course in this case the student was indeed smart and hard working, but the credit definitely goes to the teacher because she can keep her student interested and develop skills and techniques that are more methodical and result oriented. She is very sensitive to every problem that the student is going through in their learning process, even the issues that are not perhaps verbalised by them. This is perhaps due to the experience she has gathered over the years and also owing to her keen observational skills. This helps her identify the exact area of learning that needs attention in a particular individual. Therefore she can help her student work harder in those areas. Shama's teaching is nuanced with the right amount of involvement, developing trust and in terms of keeping a healthy amount of pressure on the student. I did my IELTS training under Shama Ma'am for a month. Prior to this, I had no idea on how to structure my paragraphs in Writing sections or how to speak correctly according to IELTS standards. Shama Ma'am's guidance helped me figure out how to write essays which would score a good band, how to split up my time efficiently, how to give concise answers during speaking while helping me keep a cool head through it all. She has really dialled in the IELTS scoring pattern so the bands she gives on practise tests are accurate and her corrections go a long way in helping us score better.

I’m going spoken English class to Mrs. Shama, her teaching was fabulous. Once, she find a errors on your (e.g pronunciation, sentences forming, or spells error) English Language. Details
A diagnostic test will be held, if a student is below band 4, he/she may have to undergo additional training. This fee is for students of level Intermediate and above. The fee of Rs 400/- per hour is for online class of small groups less than 5 students. One -on-One classes will be at Rs 600/- per hour.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I teach all the four skills of English learning to candidates who would like to study or work abroad thereby enabling them to clear the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). I work with small groups of students (not more than 4/5) from all across the globe and I have taught for over 20 years . I also take individual classes, if there is a need. I have taught technical subjects, Management Subjects, Business Communication and English as well as Education and Training to teachers as well. I simply enjoy teaching and making a difference.

What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I decided to pursue my love for English reading and writing and completed my Master trainer course for IELTS in British Council. This helps me to cater to students from vernacular medium with aspirations and goals to work/study abroad, aiding them to achieve their goals as the classes are tailor-made to suit every individuals needs.

How does your work help society?
I give my all, to the work I do. I know I make a difference in the lives of my students helping them capture and realize their dreams. I also teach some young graduates communication and interview skills to help them do interviews well, so that they may land good jobs. My students come to me for advice and direction even after their course of study.

If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My mother. She was a selfless teacher herself and I do come from a family of teachers. My grandparents were teachers who were recipients of National awards, my sisters are also teachers, and even though I have done various things in my lifetime, I basically am a teacher. I remember my mom catering to all types of students from both intellectually and economically varied strata... She made a difference in the lives of many, and I know this noble profession gives a satisfaction that is unparalleled.

Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Well, I am basically adventurous and am a true sports enthusiast. I have done many things in my life, climbed mountains, participated in National level sports meets, trekked, hiked, cycled, swum, lead teams, parades, managed prestigious projects, worked in MNCs, served the nation, lead an NGO and completely managed the building of two houses. So, I like taking on challenging roles and bringing in success.

Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I took on a spoken English student who was intelligent but hailed from a family which did not speak English. He wanted to improve his Spoken English skills to aid him to do well in his job as a Medical Representative. He had studied in one of the smaller towns in the local language and even though he knew English, made a lot of mistakes. He joined in a small group, but as time progressed the interest that this student showed, made me take separate classes for him. He learnt, applied it and very soon, was giving speeches in his company meetings. The jewel in the crown was the fact that soon after completing his course with me, he got a much better job in an MNC with a 30% hike to his salary. Knowing that he comes from a small village, where his father is a vessel polisher and having in a small way aided this student to be the first in his family to work for an MNC is truly satisfying. I am sure, he will lead the way for many others in his family and village to move ahead in life... Yes, teachers create ripples that multiply and spread...
