This test is equivalent to the CAT test for MBA students. XAT entrance exam score is accepted by XLRI and 10 other members of XAMI along with 1000 B-schools. Therefore, clearing XAT can open a new horizon of opportunities for an aspiring MBA student.

XAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus
XAT syllabus comprises important topics including Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability and General Knowledge. Decision Making is a unique segment for which there is no predefined syllabus. Preparation for Decision Making is mostly based on the previous year’s question paper. The rest of the three sections include crucial topics of their field.
Verbal & Logical Ability encompasses topics like:

XAT exam is an online exam and the question paper is comprised of 100 Multiple Choice Questions to be solved in 3 hours (180 minutes).
However, the XAT exam pattern 2022 has been reviewed and modified. Essay Writing has been reintroduced and the duration of the exam is increased by 10 minutes.
The students have to follow a pre-decided sectional time limit. Each correct attempt carries 1 mark and each wrong attempt carries -0.25 marks. The negative marking can take a huge toll on the aggregate total and thus the students must be careful of the questions they attempt. But then again there is a rule that 0.50 marks will be deducted for leaving 8 questions un-attempted. The General Knowledge section carries no negative marking which is a huge relief for the students.
XAT Registration Process
The XAT registration process is very simple and well-organized by online.in. Candidates have to fill in the online XAT application form and pay INR 1800 (subject to amendment each year) requisite fees to register for the test.
XAT 2022 application and registration process is given below in a nutshell:
- Log on to xatonline.in which is XAT 2022 website
- Click on 'New Registration' and enter relevant credentials
- A unique XAT ID and registration link is shared with the candidate on the verified email ID
- Click on the link to verify your registration
- Go to XAT 2022 homepage and click on ‘login’
- Enter email ID and password to open the application form
- Fill out all the mandatory fields of the XAT 2022 application form
- Cross-check the information before clicking on submit button
- Pay XAT 2022 application fee through credit/ debit card, UPI or net banking
To sit in the exam, it is compulsory to satisfy the XAT eligibility criteria as given below:
- Candidates must be having a bachelor’s degree a minimum of 3-years or a similar degree from a recognised university/institute.
- Students who have completed their bachelor degree’s exam and awaiting their results are also eligible.
- There are no minimum marks criteria for the XAT exam
XAT Results 2022
XAT 2022 result is available online. Candidates could download their XAT results in the 2022 cum scorecard from the official website. Post the announcement of the XAT 2022 result, XLRI Jamshedpur published the admission cut-offs. The cut-off mark this year was 92 per cent for female candidates and 95 per cent for male candidates.

- Click on the 'XAT 2022 scorecard' tab
- Enter XAT User ID and date of birth and click on 'login'
- Download the XAT result cum scorecard
The final selection process of the candidates is more conventional. The first round is of course the XAT online exam. Once you clear the XAT, you have to attend group discussions and personal interview sessions. Shortlisted candidates must declare their city of preference on the official website. The exam authority will allocate a venue for the students.
The last phase of the selection is a thorough evaluation of the XAT result, group discussion and personal interview performance alongside the academic history of the candidate. Selected candidates will then have to complete the formalities of the admission as laid down upon by the authority.
XAT Answer Key 2022
XAT answer key was revealed in the form of a response sheet immediately on the next day after the exam, 3rd January 2022. The re-modified or the final answer key sheet was revealed on 11th January 2022. Candidates could download their own XAT 2022 answer sheets and the final answer keys from the XAT online exam website logging in using their unique XAT ID and password. If a candidate feels that any of the final XAT 2022 answer keys is wrong, he or she can raise doubt by sending an official email to the exam authorities.
If an objection is found to be legitimate, the final answer key will be scrutinized and a modified answer key will be released.
